One of the P.E.T. Young Professionals had an interesting day recently when she was invited to 'meet a member of parliament'. On arrival at the event it turned out that it was none other than Prime Minister Gordon Brown! Mr Brown had discretely arrived in Coventry to meet business leaders and promote measures taken by the Government to help businesses and the public get through the recession.
Kirstie graduated from a Progressive Educational Tools programme and now assists us at events and in the office. We were asked to select a young person to represent Coventry and chose Kirstie. We helped her to get a new outfit for the event, with the assistance of the Progressive Foundation.
At the event, held at Coventry University, Kirstie was lucky enough to be selected to ask the PM a question, and asked what his plans are in the future to assist young people who leave school without any qualifications. The Prime Minister took all of the questions and will respond by letter soon.
Kirstie said, “It was a great day, I didn’t know who I would be meeting when I went there and then it turned out to be the Prime Minister!”
We’d like to congratulate Kirstie on her professionalism at representing Progressive Educational Tools and the young people of Coventry.
