P.E.T. were invited to the VESA Alternative Curriculum Conference in Leicester last week for a presentation called “Could it be Magic? – Enterprise + Work Experience = 2 ¼ GCSE equivalents the P.E.T. way”.
Our reputation for delivering qualifications based around enterprise and experience of the world of work has been spreading over the last year. We’ve worked with VESA (Vocational Education Support Agency) a number of times in recent months to help re-engage Leicester’s young people in the learning process. The programmes have been a lot of fun and the students have responded brilliantly.
It was an honour to be invited to speak to the teachers of Leicester about the Progressive Methodology of engaging young people and rewarding their commitment with recognised qualifications. Following a short presentation on our methods and recent programmes, in typical P.E.T. style we then got all of the teachers to play our famous ‘Retail in a box’ challenge. The teachers loved having the chance to try out a mini-version of one of our challenges. We were very impressed with their pitches and had a lot of fun in the process.
We’re looking forward to working with more Leicester schools, and their students, in the next half term.
